I Need Help!!!

I am new to this forum and i need some help. I upgraded the system in my 2000 jetta, and it is not performing how i expected it to. I had 2 2ohm 12'' kicker cvrs, 4 pioneer 6 1/2's, a pioneer head unit, and a 2 channel old school soundstream rubicon 700. Now i upgraded to 2 4ohm 12'' kicker solabaricks L7's, a soundstream PCA1500D amp, added 2 infinity 6x9's, a 5 farad Soundstream capacitor, and 4 tweeters. Technically this setup is almost twice as powerful as the previous one. I dont know anything about car installation, so this is where my problem comes from. This new setup is louder, but not as loud as i expected. I had the system installed by a car audio shop, and i told them to wire it at 1 ohm since the amp is 1 ohm stable. That would give the L7's 750 watts RMS each which is their max output. Can it be that the shop didnt wire the system at 1 ohm? Can it also be because i still have 4 gauge wiring? Can someone please give me some suggestions on some possible problems of why the system is not as loud as it should be? Also, can anyone post any pictures of what a 1 ohm setup is supposed to look like (wiring from subs to amp). I am new here, so i really hope someone can help. Thank you all.

to wire two 4 ohm dvc subs for 1 ohm wire all 4 + together and all 4 - together. what about your box? a decent sub in the right box will sound better and be louder than a good sub in the wrong box.

I was just about to say that!

1. L7s are loudest in Ported box, Oversized alittle to their Specs. So that could be a BIG PROBLEM.

2. Battery/Alt check... ( Yellow Top would do the trick )

3. Make sure your amp is set right.... Also make sure your CD player is set also.

That's all I can think of that could be the problem for the loudness.

The subs are in a ported box that looks pretty big. What do you mean battery/ alt check? if the battery and alternator were an issue wouldnt it just die? What do you mean make sure the amp is set right? I think none of these are an issue. Can it be that they didnt wire it to 1 ohm? or can it be that i need a 0 or 1 gauge wiring as opposed to 4 gauge like i have? I thought these subs were supposed to kick ***!! I mean they set off car alarms... but i know they do more than that!!!

Different amps have different settings....

Some have:

Subsonice Filters

LPF (Low Pass Filter)

Bass Boost

X-Over

Phase

Gain Level

etc....

That might not be set right....

Also your Pioneer cd player ( If its the more up-to-date ones ).... It might need setting.... CORRECTLY!.

When I say " Battery and Alt " - Just more power...

Also, are the subs bridged....

If you don't think that the subs are wired to 2ohms each.... Take them out and look.

* Both of the Positives and Both of the Negitives should be connected and ran down & out. *
