im gonna be buyin a cheaper indash monitor for my car but while i was reading the specs on it, it says that the power it needs is 12 volts and if i give more it will ruin the monitor so how do i get my car 14.4 volts down to a constant 12 or is it not possible i would hate to buy something im gonna fry juss because my battery gives out 2 more volts than needed .

Thats an easy question... never turn the engine of your car on! Or you could do a setup involving conversion to ac, step down transformer from 14.4 to 12, then back to dc all in line between your battery to your indash monitor...Or you could go purchase a new car battery and just use it to hook up the monitor, don't even hook it up to the alternator. Then when it starts to go dead, charge it back up.
