i need help with ideas for my installation

Hello,

I recently bought a truck(1999 dodge dakota crew cab) and I need help deciding on what to do to it. Irecently put 2 2way speakers in the doors not hooked up to any amplifiers but they need to be amplified for best results. I also am purchasing a custom box to fit under the rear seats and also need an amplifier for that. I am unaware of the rms those speakers have. So right now I have a factory stereo, 2 2way speakers in the door unamplified and 2 tweeters also in the door. There are 2 holes in the back for speakers but I was planning on using those speaker wires for a hi to low adapter for rcas for the amplifier for the subs. Does all this sound somewhat legit and any other advice?

what is preventing you from replacing the factory head unit? that will always be your weakest link.

There are some good factory interfaces by Alpine, MTX, AudioControl, JL Audio, etc. that would let you keep the factory HU but gain in sound quality ouput.

you can keep your rear speakers and still use a LOC. a LOC doesn't add load to the system so it can be wired in parallel with speakers. i recommend using the LOC off your front speakers, and fade to the front to reduce output from rear speakers.

Ok the reason I was thinking about replacing the HU was becasuse it is a good one and cost of a new one that compares. But now that I think of it I will just get a new HU. Also.. do you know of a place I can mount 2 amps pne for my subs and one for the full ranges.

look under the rear seats for a storage area that could house amplifiers. or behind the rear seats on the back wall.
