A.M. Radio Isn't Working In My Car

I'm brand spanking new to this forum and I don't understand much at all about radio electronics so bear with me. I have a 2003 Acura MDX and for some reason the AM radio stopped working. Whats puzzling is that when I put the key in the ignition and just turn one notch before starting the car, the AM radio works fine. If I turn the key one more notch before starting where all lights and stuff comes on, the AM radio is all static and you cannot hear anything but interference. If you turn the key all the way and start the car you get all interference as well.

Why would the radio be crystal clear after that first initial turn of the key ? Any help would be appreciated especially if this could be a quick fix for me.

AM radio works on different wave length then FM. Trty seeing if your FM functions like it should. My guess is you have an electrical interferance with one of your acc in the car.
