My Viper 1200.1 keeps blowing the fuses on the amp, not thepower wire. I've checked all connections, checked the ground, took off more paint on the grounding spot, checked power wire to make sure there is no splits in it touching any metal. I dont think it could be the remote cause its a low current wire.. When i put new fuses in the amp it will go into protection then to power and back and forth and then blow the fuses. So please help me out cause im lost and i really dont have $$$ to buy a new **** amp, which i dont think it is.

Mike

What would make a amp do that tho? just burn out, it wasnt lke i was bumping and all of a sudden it went out, it did it when i started my truck up one mourning and was fine the day before....

check your gain settings? thats the only reason i would guess...too much power goin through it. thats what fuses are supposed to do am i right? keep a certain amount of power goin to it...if theres too much power going through the fuse, it will blow? other than that i dont know sorry bro.

like i said id take a dmm n check the gains, then double check everythign over......what are you runnin off this amp?

Sounds like the amp is toasted.

Only other possibility would be if the power wire is shorted somewhere. Check and see if the power wire is shorted out somewhere. If not, then the amp is fried.
