I need help designing a new product

So I am in the process of designing some new products.

One of which is a hoodliner that will go under the hood to absorb sound from the engine and block heat, prolonging the life of the paint on the hood.

I have finally found the a solid manufacturer of raw materials that is reliable and talented. so Things are finaly turning around for hoodliner.

I would like some input from you guys about the specs of the product.

1. how thick would you want it 1/2" or 3/4"

2. what size? dementions?

3. what the most you would be willing to pay, what the least, and what is a fair price?

after I get some feedback about this, I will start with the assembly, and will offer a couple free hoodliner kits to the forum members.

1/2" is nice if it gets the job done ...

3/4" is fine if it does the job better ...

As for size ... maybe like 4 feet wide, and 3 feet tall? Or 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall and people could trim it ... 4.5 feet wide and 3.5 feet tall is a nice number actually.

As for price, the cheaper the better (obviously) ... I think B-Quiet's is like $50 ... so there's some competition. I think that includes free UPS ground as well. I doubt I would pay for than $80 for something like that.

Oh, keep the material light. Aluminum skin, and it's gotta have a great adhesive backing ...

Thickness depends on the material. But for the size in my personal opinion. I would offer two different sizes if possible. One for smaller imports and such. You should sell both but have diffrent prices..1/2 and 3/4

3/4 being more exspensive since it works betta..

50 sounds like a good price...it would be even better if you had a few custom, cut outs for certain cars... i'm not really sure on the diminseions of how long i would want it to be..

well also u have to think if there will be a demand for this. cuz many of us like the sounds that our engine puts out and we wouldnt want anything blocking it. Just an opinion
