I've been reading on this forum for about a year now. I finally think I have the money and the knowledge to build my system. I've waited to build up my budget and to post of thread worthy enough for you guys to comment on. I appreciate any comments and I know most of you guys very skilled at car audio.
Allright the car in question is a 2000 Honda Accord coupe. I am looking for a predominantely high SQ sound system with as much SPL as I can get. Something of a compromise with an SQ emphasis. I run front stage mostly and I add rear fill when I have passengers. I want a 3 way system: tweeter, mid, sub and I want it all active.
Current Setup:
Alpine 9835
Polk momo 400.4 90X4 at 4 ohm for fronts ( active setup with built in xover)
Polk momo 500.1 550X1 at 2 ohm for subs
Kappa perfect 6.1 up front 6.5 component set
polk momo rear fill 6.5 component set
2x kappa perfect 12.1 subs in a 1 ft3 box for each
dynamated the whole car foamed the rear speaker panel
I optima yellow
150 amp alternator (upgrade from the stock 70 amp)
4gage power cable.
New setup:
Alpine 9835 will stay
polk momo 90X4 will stay 90X2 tor tweeters, 90X2 rear pasive setup
polk momo 180X2 will be bought and it will run front mid speakers
polk mom components will stay in the rear.
everything else I will sell plus I have a budget of 2k dollars
This is what I'm leaning towards:
forcal utopia 180w( 7inch mids) for front stage (180watts for mids, 90watts for tweeter)
2xadire brahma 12s in a 1ft3 sealed (1300 watts each)
2x infinity ref1211a amps 1300watts each
1/0 gage power wire
500 amp alternator ??? is it possible to get something like that and where
2xinfinity mono amps 1300watts each in 2 ohms
I listen mostly to electronic music (trance, house). I need a system that is extremely accurate and clean with lots of power.
anything wrong with the possible setup? any better alternatives from the stuff I allready have and 2k dollars?
thanks in advance for all advice and for all the info you guys posted here for that past year
