Ok so heres my problem. I bought a new (well...new to me) 03 chevy silverado ext. cab. and it already had a good system in it. I recently blew an amp and I dont have any idea what I need to buy as a replacement. so to start off with, here is what I have in my system:
2 10" pioneer TS-SW251 subs mounted under the back seat (facing downward)
-these are really good speakers and hit harder than a lot of my friends 12's
farenheit 7inch pop-up touch screen
I dont know what the specs are on the door speakers, I think they're pioneers too.
There are two amps for the system:
-theres a 1200 watt amp made by a company called "direced". I have no idea what any other specs are with this amp because there is nothing on the amp or inside the amp to give me any ideas. this is the amp that i believe is powering the 2 subs
-theres a 600 watt "west coast customs" amp by Orion. I believe this is the amp that is powering the 4 door speakers
Now the subs just stoped working one day and the light on the 1200w amp went from green(good) to red(bad). I know this amp is most likely bad. since the door speakers continue to work, I assume that the 600w amp is strictly for the door speakers and the 1200w amp is strictly for the subs. Anyway, i donkt know what I need for an amp for the subs. the link for the specs for the subs is below. What do I need? I would like to spend around 100 dollars (preferably not too much more), however i do like to listen to my music loud and I dont want to have to buy another amp (or new speakers for that matter). Please help me anybody who has any advice. what wattage amp do I need and why? what class and why(im thinking a A-B class but idk a whole lot so...), mono or stereo and why? anything!
