I see your point. However that "decision" was made by previous case law, which is our responsibility to know. I can't say that it is always fair but hey we can always appeal to get the laws changed.

I do say that in this situation there is either more to the situation or that cop had it out for him. I have NEVER had an issue with my stereo and yes, i have exceeded the volume around officers from time to time.

i was not looking for sympathy, simply sharing my story. but i do like how you mention motorcycles. how is a harley not more annoying that a subwoofer. also how people run power tools during the day. i don't understand how that law got passed when all the other stuff is out there that makes plenty of noise that is noticebly louder. i believe that playing loud car audio should be in accordance with the sound ordinance laws with the persons city.

as for the guys asking why motorcycle riders, cars etc etc get away with it, i asked the first cop that pulled me over for a noise violation, and he flipped out and told me that i need to keep quiet because he has all the right to confiscate my system.

to this day i STILL haven't checked into that part of the law. and the gayest part about that is, after all the BS, he starts asking me about the system and i tell him " 2 15's, 2.5k watts" blah blah and he starts saying "oh yea? i bet its loud. those are huge subwoofers". of course i didnt say shit, but im thinking how in the hell are you going to give me a ticket, but then start bullshitting with me about my system and how "crazy" it looks and must sound.

and did i ever tell you to make sure you pay your ticket on time? a $250 civil charge, a license suspension, and a warrant is a little over the top for not paying a noise violation ticket on time no?.....

I also live in Cleveland not outside of Cleveland but on the westside and I got pulled over by a 2nd district cop and he tagged me with a $195.00 ticket for my subs and it was a first offense. He also threatened to take all my shit my rims etc. I learn to keep my shit down a lot now. Some cops are pricks but thats there job you know.

rights mean jackshit to most police officers these days. i once got in an accident, not my fault, but i had a suspended license. cop asked if he could search my car, with no reason at all. i told him no. he informed me that my telling him no made him think i had something to hide, and he was going to search it because of that, which he did. another time a cop told me basically the same thing, except he said instead of just searching it, he was going to call a drug dog and let the dog go through my car to see if he needed to search it. both of these shameful incidents occured in salina kansas.

thats what has happened to me and a few people around here that i hang out with. cops have never found anything illegal on us but still illegally search our cars. it hasnt happened lately tho since the lawyers got involved. the first chance i get i explain to the cop about all the times i get pulled over and searched for bullshit and my lawyer said this and that, and the cops usually reply with yes i have seen your driving record and it informed me of your cases and who your lawyer is. they will usually let me go with no problems. they still pull me to check my insurance, inspection, tag, etc.
