and I don't know which way would be better to have wires running to the subs. Should I just drill a hole in the back and run the wires through, sealing it with some silicon afterwards or should I hook the subs up to some port so there are plugs on the back of the box. If the latter, how exactly would I do that? Like, what gauge wires should I use (they are 12" 300rms 900max subs) and where can I buy the connectors. Thanks!

If i was you I would use a connector at the backend of the box, you can use default "blocks" for it, i know the brands caliber and phoenix gold both have a component set for it which exists out of a golded block with a matching connector which you wire up from the inside, extention cables are mounted in the smaller golded connector which fits the backend connector, same goes for the speakerfeed connection. There's a small black thingie with two wire points on it which holds the fuse, its connected on one side of the power, ground and remote connector and connects on some points on that block.

The price of the caliber unit (called LGR-3 or sometin) in Holland is 87 euro. (euro, dollar is almost 1:1)

anyway, enjoy your project //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

can't I just like, 'extend' the connectors to the back? Like this I guess:

a) sub

b) back of box

c) connectors

Or would that not work for some reason? OR is that what you just said and I didn't understand it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Pretty much what you have. Wire from the speaker to a terminal block and seal the terminal block to the box. The terminals are usually circular "cups" that force-fit into a 2" hole. Glue and sillycone the cup into the box. You can get them from Crutchfield or any other online audio source.

Or... drill a hole and run the wire out and seal it up with goop. It's really your choice.

Thats what I said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif :) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can do both ways, personally I liked a connector on a sealed box better simply couz its the best way to connect it.

Your drawing matches the describtion i gave only i thought you had the amp build-in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes, what Dox said. The ++ -- makes it so you don't have to shove 4 wires into 2 connections. Convenient.
