i know nothing about speaker wiring, help pls

hi, i recently bought a car and wondering what some of these cables do, and what i should buy for them.

i think i the white plug in pic 3 is broken. (the yellow red and white are connected)

i dont really know too much about car audio systems so if anyone could just rundown what these do that'd be great

That white RCA is shot. Can you trace where the cables go? Was this picture taken in the trunk?

i can't find where the cables go, but i can replace the white RCA fairly easy i'm sure and yes it was taken in the trunk. i'm really wondering what the plugs in the 2nd picture do. the full on red cable in the first pic is hooked onto the battery of the car.

The PO of the car had a few amps hooked up but obvioulsy took them out. He left you with the aftermath of his sketchy handiwork. Disconnect the red power cable to your battery or cap the bare lead in the trunk so you don't short anything out. Does the stereo work or did he take all the speakers too?

The rear speakers work, there ARE front speakers I think but they don't work/have enough power. If i set the fader to the very front in the car I can hear them very faintly. The red cable has a rubber cap thing on it so I think it's okay, but i'm not quite sure.

You're might be good to go. I would pull the head unit and find out what your RCA's are plugged into. They will be plugged in the back of your HU most likely. The one set of RCS is garbage (red, yellow & broken white set) but I see a twisted pair which will be usable for your needs. Honestly, before dumping $$ into a sub and amp I would trouble shoot your current speaker issue first. Just my $.02
