Well, you're not gonna hear a difference. And with a proper charging system they will help minutely.

My best friend likes them because of the LED voltage indicator on the top. He's done big 3, upgrade alt, upgrade battery, he just likes the way they look.

Me on the other hand, I don't ever carpet amp racks or boxes.

thanks for sharing how lazy you are

Caps do something. And what they do helps a lot. When listening to music with quick, punchy bass..your electrical will take a much softer, more cushoned hit from the amp pressing the subs to hit. However, on longer notes (especially test tones usually played in bass competition) the cap only helps for a very small duration of the actual load put on the electrical system during the VERY (compared to a single bass "punch") LONG duration of a solid, lenghty bass note. Therefor, when playing actual music the capacitor will most likely help regulate your voltage and keep it more stable during fast up-beat barrages of many quick, short bass hits. However, during prolonged series of lenghty bass lines...the capacitor wont help in a noticable ammount.

That is all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Jesus... I can't wait to see what the more intelligent members will have to say about this one, especially squeak. Squeak knows his shit, too.

Though I would agree with you instinctively... I'm just not sure that this is entirely true, especially when it comes to 2000w amps on 70 amp alternators and stock batteries... okay, a bit extreme, but you get the point.

a cap paired with a Battery is a great idea, especially if the battery doesn't recharge very fast off your alt. I only say this for competition applications like bass race or drive-by spl where you only need 30seconds of pounding. Good for burps too. Over the long haul (like a day of cruising) a cap's not gonna do anything, but for comps its not a bad idea
