im about 75k/yr working for my dad and working elsewhere for my school credits, im 18 in high school, gonna get a business degree and open up another business, that would only help my dads get larger.

I never said 60k!!! LOL!!! In 2004, I made $73k and I've never been to OEF or OIF...
In 2005 I made 56K... That was base pay (e-6 under 10) with single BAH in Southern MD, BAS, and an installment on my re-enlistment bonus.

Here is an excerpt from my current LES (Leave & Earnings Statement):

That's now an E-6 over 10...

For the non-military types here is your legend:

Entitlements:

BAS = Food

BAH = Housing

Clothing = Once per year to replace uniforms

Deductions:

SGLI = Life insurance $400,000 worth

TSP = Thrift Savings Plan, kind of like a 401K retirement plan

Allotments:

Bank Acct Allot = Allotment that goes to my savings account

Summary:

Tot Ent = Total Entitlement, everything I earned

Tot Ded = Total Deduction, everything they took out, includes mid-month pay

Tot Allt = Total Allotments

Net Amt = Net Amount (Tot Ent - Tot Ded & Tot Allt)

Cr Fwd Credit forward (If they give you an advance)

EOM Pay End of month pay

not sure who you work for but base pay for an e6 with 8 but les than 10 yrs is 2685/mo. even with bah/s and combat pay i dont see how you can make that much money.

Because I'm not buying the 60K thing unless you got a fat bonus at six years and still getting e5 pay base pay is like 2500 and it says you live you in wa and I know your not in everett so your bah is probably not that high unless your a geo bacholer and you said your not getting sea pay yet. anyway the point is i'm not buying it

You've obviously failed to see that the pay in todays Navy differs from person to persone despite having unifored pay-grades. Not to mention, again, that I am a submariner. I will always get paid more than you, I advance faster than you and I probably work less than you. Thats why my re-enlistment bonus was for 45,000 for 6 years.

For all of you that doubt Navy pay here is a compensation calculator. And next time, dont try to tell us what the pay was in '89 or what you WERE getting.

first off....glad to see someone is making close to what they deserve..secondly..my pay wasn't from '89 i was still in high school in 89...3rdly you would never have gotten promoted faster then me...i made E6 in 41 months of service and would certainly be an officer except for the fact that i was shot in the head in a certain African country...so don't act like you are the shyt or something because you live in a tube. You are in fact no better then any E-1 or 0-10 or any other funkin rank in the military. peace. good luck to you.

ANd yes, I am the shit, I do my job well and no one is better at MY job than me. You should be happy that some of us in the military still give a shit about national pride and their job no matter what it is. Just like the guys in Iraq, I dont want them to be there but I am proud to fight with them even though my fight is a completley different battleground. I also share pride in what you have done....So yes I am the shit, not because of my pay because its peanuts, but because I still give a shit.
