Okay it says that needs 22.25 inches of port length,but the the 2 pieces of wood for the port only equals 16 inches....Is there anything I am missing here?I dont understand

port length is measured from the center of the port, so with the L it goes halfway into it... does that make sense?

If you measure down the middle of the port on both legs of the L it will equal 22.25 inches.
