I have no sound coming out of my speakers

Ok, I am very new to this, never done this before. I bought the Dual XD7500 55 x 4 channels 220w, and 4x6 pioneer 100w speakers to replace the stock speakers in the front of my 1979 Buick Le Sabre. I've hooked everything up the stereo turns on, when I hook the wires to the speakers no sound comes out. Sound did come out of the stock stereo and wires, but not out of the stereo I bought, I used the right wires and no sound. Is this because I have no amp yet or am I missing a step?

It would not be beause u have no amp as long as u have it all hook up right. did u try takeing all of it apart and hooking the wires back up carefuly? and it could be that some thing is loose ether at the stereo or at the speakers. if i was u i would check all my wires and fules and try takeing it all apart and doing it over.

Could be that you have a factory amp in the car. For simplicity and to remove all other problems, just run new wire from the HU to the speakers.

The same thing has happened to me, and that's exactly what it was.

Might as well run an external amp to the speakers and properly power them, and bypass the internal amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A factory amplifier isn't likely on a 1979 LeSabre. My guess is that there's a problem with one or both of the dash speakers. Sometimes on the older GMs the terminals on the new speakers will short out against metal in the dash, which causes the head unit output to shut down. Try removing the speakers and tape up or insulate the terminals; make sure the tinsel leads can't come into contact with metal inside the dash.
