Why does ground loop isolation (or what ever the term is) cause a whine through my speakers? Does the whine become greater as the difference between the length of the amp ground and head unit ground becomes greater?
I have a 0 gauge ground wire leading from my amplifiers to the battery. Over 80% of the people that I tell this to tell me that I need to ground my amp to the chassis less than 3 feet away from the amp in order to stop the whine coming out of the speakers. But I could not find a spot on my car with a low resistance, I think my car is made out of glue and plastic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif.
Thanks for the help.
