I have a sudden urge to buy tools

I'm a mechanic at a construction company and we have broke lots of shit like snap on drills and sockets and what not also have had a lot of craftsmen shit break but they are nicer cuz you don't have to wait for 4 weeks to get your tools back. for home use its better to buy craftsmen.

More power Tim, I usually get craftsman as well best warranty an there is one in almost every town you don't have to wait for a truck to come to you.

My dads cousin was walking around the old farm house he was born at in North Dakota in the late 1930's--he found some old rusted craftsman pliers that who knows how old they were. Took them to sears and walked out with a new set--cant beat that!

I have just generic sets at my apartment.

But if I need a good tool, I just go over my dads shop or house and get what I need and when finished, put it back.

He uses nothing but snap-on tools and somre craftsman, but very little of the craftsman. He has been a mechanic his whole life, so to say he has a lot of tools, would be a huge understatement.

I honestly think I could buy a mid priced home for all he has invested in tools.

craftsman is good quality and free replacement is nice and easier then snapon

i got a snapon box full of snapon tools and a craftsman box full of the same, i like the snapon better but it is hard o get them replaced if you do not work at a shop or know someone

My advice, and this is what I have been doing- Start out with a decent craftsman set. As Time goes on, start by upgrading to sk, or snapon ratchets, and other hand tools with moving parts like ratcheting wrenches. The craftsman ratchets are ok, but the sk,or snap on ones hold up very well, and are more comfortable to use. But go buy some craftsman. If you have a younger sibling, give them the stanley junk to learn with.

my dad is a general contractor so he has basically everything i could ever need and would let me borrow anything i wanted so long as i return it. as far as hand tools go i like klein because im an electrician and they make the most solid tools for my trade. power tools i like dewalt but also have a makita impact and drill set due to their light weight and smaller size
