i have two 12" sony xplod subs and an 800 watt logic soundlab amp. i had only one sub running for a couple of days cuz the other was blown, and it seemed like it was louder and had more bass with only 1 sub hooked up. anyone know why

Without a better explanation of your total setup [enslosure size/design, manner in which the sub(s) are wired to the amp, etc] there's really no way to know for certain.

My first guess from what you've posted, though, would be that (A) That Logic amplifier isn't outputting near the 800 watts that is most likely boldly advertised across its chassis and (B) The single sub was making much better use of the available power given to it than a pair of subs on the same power might.

There might have been a chance of cancelation as well. but without further info on it its hard to tell. Prowler brings up some good points as well.

You may have the subs wired out of phase with each other. Try reversing the + and - wires on ONE of the two and see if that helps.

kaezoo, i dont think understand what im saying! i disconnected one sub cuz it was blown. so i was only running one sub. but it sounded like that there was more bass and shit with just the 1 sub running that when both were running(when it wasnt blown)

what he is saying is one of the subs may have been wired out of phase with the other sub causing cancellation. end result less sound. now that one of them is not hooked up it is louder because there is no more cancellation. just a possibilty.

Yes, I misunderstood what you were saying; I thought you had replaced the blown sub. But it's still possible it was wired out of phase. The standard test for checking polarity on a pair of subwoofers is to disconnect one of them. If the bass is louder, they're out of phase.
