I have 4 polk speakers in my car, and wonder if its worth the upgrade.

So i have 4 of these in my car http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/db570/ because my parents bought them for me and got them installed for my bday present and they are running of the HU. My speaker size is 5x7/6x8 and was wondering if i should upgrade my speakers, because at high volumes, they get all distorted, or if i should just add an amp to them. Another kinda off the point question is, whats the point of component speakers if i have subs?

yea, my car doesnt have tweeters, and i dont really want to but anything out of my car to install them. When you installed them, what amps were they using?

just with the speakers? because without an amp it feels like theres no bass, can an amp really change that?

definitly stick an amp on them first, then if you still want more then upgrade the speakers, but it would be a waste of money to not even try it. if you do upgrade though, cut the hole and make a template and stick a 6.5" component set in the doors, or if that doesnt sound like something you want to do, i would highly recommend the boston SL80s.

Absolutly! Amp them puppies. Polk is a very good speaker. The momos are sweet! You set the gains properly on the amp and those seakers should not distort unless you push them into clipping. Good luck...
