My aunt had a cd player put in her car by her daughter's boyfriend, a natural born retard. In the process of hooking up the cd player he managed to blow the fuse for the power windows and some other accesories. Before this the radio worked. I replaced the fuse but not before pulling the radio and checking the wiring. Which was an abortion. I hooked everything back up behind the radio.
So I got a new harness for the cd player and got my crimps/solder ready. I tested to see which was the constant and switched. I wired up those and the ground first to ensure everything was ready to go. Nothing worked.
I pulled the radio out again, double checked my wiring, the fuses in the car, everything was fine. I pulled the radio completely and hooked it up to my 12v PSU. Still no life. No cd drive spinning, no display. Held in every button to see if it would turn on. Nothing.
I then notice the fuse on the cd player is a 20amp, which was fine, but right above that on the chassis it said 10A fuse. My guess is when the other guy managed to blow five other things, the radio took a nasty hit.
