I hate when people lie about their ads

My wife was looking up to see where our old S15 Jimmy ended up after we sold it to a guy in Florida back in 2005.

I built this from a stock vehicle, did the engine swap to a V8, did all the interior work and had a local shop do the paint and body.

I finished the truck and wanted to start on a corvette I just bought so I sold this the gentleman for $4000 cash.

Wife found this old ad 1988 Chevy S10 BlaZer HOT ROD / SPL vehicle [Archive] - Car Audio Forum - CarAudio.com

Reading through it the guy was lying pretty much about everything. The jimmy looked exactly the way I sold it to him. But he's claiming he did all the work, lying about the paint. and so forth.

He didn't do any of the work other than just buying it from me

I've attached some pics of the jimmy when I was working on it

I know this is an old post and the truck is long gone, it just irks me how people are sometimes

Yeah I had several lowered trucks in my time, but the S10 Blazer style like this was always my favorite. I threw in a s10 bench seat towards the end and really liked the way it rode..def a fun vehicle to drive.

At one point I had two kicker 15" solobaric subs in it and it was cool

I didn't sell it with the audio equipment but I did let the enclosure and all wiring go with it.

I wanted that exact ride in high school so bad.
Except for the color, fuck red.

Man the insurance alone on that with a V8 in it would have bankrupted me back then though.

Instead I got a slammed Yota and put a camper shell on the back to protect my subwoofers.
You had subwoofers???

@1971camaroguy nice blazer for sure. Red wouldn't be my color of choice either and cops love red. I had a '92 s10 blazer, it was slightly lowered and did some work to it. I sadly sold it tho...it needed more work than I had the $$ for.

Have you ever confronted him on why he's taking credit for the actual work that you did to it?

people lie to make themselves look good, or to sell something. Sad as it is, but it's an easy thing to do.

Thanks!

I remember vaguely saying something when it popped up on another site and he had it listed for $8500..this wasn't long after he bought it from me.

It was just a weird feeling to see something I personally built being sold in that manner. It was my canvas and my vision, I spent a lot of time on it to make it what it was.

I would have been cool with "previous owner" did this, or he could have contacted me and gotten the details he needed instead of pulling them out of thin air.

The paint was super nice, I paid a local shop to paint it and they charged me $3700 to do it. They used the cheapest ppg paint you could get *(omini) and it def didn't have 9 coats of clear like claimed. It had a couple and it WAS wetsanded. That was part of the buffing process...I was there visiting the shop when the guy was doing it. That's why the paint was so nice.

He said he was "really glad he decided to go with chrome handles instead of shaved" ....I put those handles on myself after I got the car back from paint. I remember ordering them from lmctruck.com along with all of the little bits and pieces. Including the grille.

He also mentioned "brand new dual exhaust down-piped in front of rear axle (in case you wanted to add bags in the future)"...that was because I had the exhaust done that way because it DID have airbags on it prior to selling. I removed them because I put a static drop suspension back on it and sold the airbag stuff. I left the exhaust the way it was.

I installed the alarm system, dynamat, ran all of the wire...all of that went with the truck lol

Just seeing this that thread just boggles me why people do that.
