yeah, but theres a difference between craftsmanship and a guy off the street going through the motions ...it doesnt turn out the same.. trust me people try you can do the work but if its not right..you dont get paid.

Yeah I understand a lot of those jobs take experience and some amount of skill but at the end of the day it still doesn't take a degree

I'm in college right now and have a bit of debt but I'm not too worried about it because average starting salary for my field is 50k and it hasn't really been affected by the economy...now if only I could be done with school so I could actually get one of those jobs.....

Yes you can. I know a ton of people that own businesses that never had to do your slave labor job. Course, most of them went to college.

I'm the type of person that would rather do manual work, maybe not heavy labor because yeah ur body does break down over time from them. I don't think one job is better than the other or one of us is better than the other like you guys CLEARLY do. im not saying theres anything wrong wit that at all.. i would have went to college if me and my dad didnt already have plans to do what we are doing..and so far is worked out..but like i said the area i live in hasnt been as effected like the rest of the country yet.. we have the medical field here boomin from UPMC so theres so much work the companies here cant do it all so we are in a boom i guess kind of for building trades.. theres been 5 big hospitals built in pittsburgh including largest childrens hopsital in the country(which we did, was there for 3 1/2 years)

I put in the effort instead of hanging out with my low life friends that went no where and ended up tracking down a union job because they needed the security and protection from competition found in the real world.

we dont do ceramic ..thats a different trade union here... tile setters are in the brick layers union.. we do carpet, vct, sheet goods, hardwood depending on size(carpenters have jurisidction on certain sizes),
