I hate my f**ckin job

Oh I agree completely that we have raised a generation (or two) of children/young adults who feel a sense of entitlement, rather than a desire to make it in the world through their own labor and sacrifice. But that's not really relevant to the topic of a lack of jobs. Getting a job isn't hard. Getting a good job is hard these days. Every convenience store in America could put out help wanted signs today, our economy would still be screwed. We, as a society, cannot survive on service oriented jobs flipping burgers and selling cigarettes.
Indeed, and that's exactly what has happened. America has become the land of the part time job. People work multiple crap jobs just to make ends meet...

OK I'll restate with better words. Those that complain about finding jobs for months/years on end are either too lazy, too picky, or don't know how to interview. I'm going to file what you said under too picky. I'm saying finding a job, if I need one I'll work anywhere doing anything. Thats not to say that if you need to find a certain pay rate to maintain your lifestyle that may be harder now, there are always new jobs popping up all over, some of them might not be ones you want but they're ones you can apply for. Had to find my job in a tough economy had 3 different places offer me a job took this one. I was unemployed a total of 1 week. filled out countless applications always asked to be interviewed on the spot when I handed the application/resume in.
I make 20% of what I did 5 years ago, and you consider me too picky? Again let me restate, there is a difference between unemployed, and underemployed. You call it wanting to maintain a lifestyle, like we are all just so mad we cant drive around in our corvettes and live like playboys anymore. What if that 'lifestyle' was feeding your children, instead of owning a corvette? Or owning your own home, instead of renting an appt? How about helping support your retired parents? There are plenty of non-selfish reasons to want to 'maintain a lifestyle' you are use to. Its easy to act/feel superior when you have a good job. Hey, you worked your butt off and was only unemployed 3 weeks, and found a good job. Lucky you. Sure, I completely agree you worked to find that job, and good for you. But dont preach like everyone has the same opportunities you do/did.

no diss but i do feel a sense of entitlement. im not lazy. i would love to have an active job. theres just none of those available here. honestly im at work and this sorta started out as a way to vent then i was just seeing how many ppl would agree. never thought it would turn to an uproar.
This is not an upraor. In fact, for the thunderdome, this is a surprisingly civil discussion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

uproar cause some people actually WORK and work hard for their money...your getting paid to sit on your *** and bitchin about it...doesnt sound like something alot of people would really feel for you about...or are you that stupid to think they would?

you know i was gonna comment but im not. if i could find a more active job here i would.

Yep, and all that will do is increase that dreaded gap between the haves and the have nots. Everyone is arguing over a few percentage points of taxes... hell id be willing to pay more taxes if I wasn't barely scraping by just to put food in my mouth. Get the economy flowing, and the tax problem would solve itself.

I bust my *** 50% of the time and sit 50% of the time. Sitting there waiting on quitting time SUCKS. I dont get paid enough for the manual labor that I do, but the downtime kind of balances it out. But I'm actually trying to get a 3rd shift position in the a/c. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Working in the rain/snow/heat/cold gets old quick...as does sitting on your ass doing nothing. but right now I'm just trying to figure out whats better for my family and what earns more income for us.

you **** bitching about how easy your jobs are and how you hate it, come do my job for a day or two.. i'll make a man out of you on a construction site, i would love to see you walk onto my union site in pittsburgh and tell the guys how you hate your job sitting in the a/c in a comfy chair... quit being such a ****** *****.. i do physical labor for work and i would LOVE to sit on my *** in a/c all day..youve probably never done real work so it sounds fun to you huh? pretty sad that your that sheltered and stupid lol.
Have you been reading what we've been saying....clearly not, I have worked hard physical exhausting labor. Feel dead by the end and sleep like a fkng LOG. I think you're the one who has never worked this job. I'd trade you jobs straight up if I could keep my pay no joke. I love working outdoors too summer/winter whatever.

i just wish i got paid to do the job i do, not get paid the same as a dollar store clerk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

you are all racist //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

yeah we all feel bad ur not working and getting paid for it.. hope u can handle the stress dude.
No stress makes for a boring life man....one day you'll understand a little stress is healthy, this shiz isn't it's truely soul draining. Not saying it's the worst job in the world, just saying I'd prefer to be working hard using my body and mind, I use neither here, its like watching TV all day everyday do it for 8 hrs all day every day and see how empty you start feeling while doing it. I feel a lot more alive being tired/exhausted physically.
