I hate my f**ckin job

Yeah I can't tell you how disheartening it is to walk into a room for an interview and be greeted by 30+ other candidates...
When I went in to take the civil servants exam for a local city job (nothing special, just a job), I walked into an auditorium that had almost 500 other people in it. The first thing the speaker at the podium said was "yes, you are all here for the same job, one position". 1 in 30 isn't such bad odds, 1 in 500 is ridiculous.

I make a small fraction of what I did 5 years ago. Im the first to admit some of it is due to my own mistakes, but a lot of it is simply because manufacturing jobs like I had just aren't growing on trees anymore. For those of you claiming there are still plenty of jobs out there, Id point out the difference between unemployment, and underemployment. The economy is fucked up, and people have a right to be concerned. If you truly feel today's unemployment is simply due to personal laziness, then you are living a sheltered life. I suggest you enjoy that sheltered life while you still can.

Audio said it well!

Im stuck in an overnight job making 13/hr while I watch phones. It isnt bad, but its incredibly boring and the overnight shifts are killing me. I never have any energy and my body just wont get used to the schedule.

My job is pretty much the same .. Sit in the a/c, play on the internetz, and say hello and goodbye to everyone. I miss walking around and being active but my co-workers are nice peoples so It doesn't **** coming to work everyday. So I loves me job.

Yup. I said self entitled before I said lazy.Glad that we agree.
Oh I agree completely that we have raised a generation (or two) of children/young adults who feel a sense of entitlement, rather than a desire to make it in the world through their own labor and sacrifice. But that's not really relevant to the topic of a lack of jobs. Getting a job isn't hard. Getting a good job is hard these days. Every convenience store in America could put out help wanted signs today, our economy would still be screwed. We, as a society, cannot survive on service oriented jobs flipping burgers and selling cigarettes.

you **** bitching about how easy your jobs are and how you hate it, come do my job for a day or two.. i'll make a man out of you on a construction site, i would love to see you walk onto my union site in pittsburgh and tell the guys how you hate your job sitting in the a/c in a comfy chair... quit being such a ****** *****.. i do physical labor for work and i would LOVE to sit on my *** in a/c all day..youve probably never done real work so it sounds fun to you huh? pretty sad that your that sheltered and stupid lol.

OK I'll restate with better words. Those that complain about finding jobs for months/years on end are either too lazy, too picky, or don't know how to interview. I'm going to file what you said under too picky. I'm saying finding a job, if I need one I'll work anywhere doing anything. Thats not to say that if you need to find a certain pay rate to maintain your lifestyle that may be harder now, there are always new jobs popping up all over, some of them might not be ones you want but they're ones you can apply for. Had to find my job in a tough economy had 3 different places offer me a job took this one. I was unemployed a total of 1 week. filled out countless applications always asked to be interviewed on the spot when I handed the application/resume in.

no diss but i do feel a sense of entitlement. im not lazy. i would love to have an active job. theres just none of those available here. honestly im at work and this sorta started out as a

way to vent then i was just seeing how many ppl would agree. never thought it would turn to an uproar.
