I hate IPods

why are you guys having so much trouble... all i do is open itunes, drag and drop music straight from the source folder i keep it in and there you go. it takes no time at all.
because most of us have been using wmp for 10 years now and once again apple comes out with some other gay shit. Whats wrong with wmp and dragging and dropping files in windows like everyone has been doing for an eternity? Why extra programs and converting files? I dont have a problem with it but all these extra steps just to put files on an external storage device is pretty retarded.

X2 Not only is an iPod simply the best and has been for 5 years now but also itunes is as well Love them both. Simply the best. Nothing can beat them people are just jealous that they didn't think of apples design first. iTunes is so nice all your music is organized and categorized any way you want it.

i just think all MP3's need to be treated the same... apple has its OWN software and bullshit that comes with all ipods... how about we make everything compatable with ALL MP3's??? huh?? what about that... no... just apple.. oh that sucks..

OH RIGHT>>> APPLE BUYS PEOPLE to use only there shity software...

programs are simple.... you tell them what to read and hear... just take out a few pieces of code and it will do the same shit with any normal MP3... but no one does this...

program a deck to read an MP3 player!!! not just an IPod....

THATS MY POINT!!!!

i use to have ITunes but i hate having 250G of stuff on my external... then having to transfer what music i want onto I-Tunes (when i would really just like all of it on there) and taking up 120G of space on my comp for no reason when i clearly got the external for just that purpose (to not have my music on my comp)

problem solved... i'm getting an external for my ride and I-Tunes can **** a fatty!!!

that is all....

Mike

edit----

BTW you can make playlist on WMP nad they have these rad things called... what was it... oh yeah..... FILES that it reads... and i keep my folders seperate by genre and artist.... the same way a gay *** IPod would... not that hard

for the record.. just razzin you guys...

but for real...

IPod sucks!!!

You could buy a million Zunes for all I care! It still wouldn't get them anywhere near the sales of Ipods. Ipods are better. I don't understand these haters now a days. Some dummy was arguing me down about how his G1 cell phone was just as good as my 120gb Ipod for music. Itunes has its problems sometimes, but the good outweighs the bad. Itunes is currently working great for me so I just never update it anymore. Most people have problems when they accept updates. Another guy said his portable hard drive was just was good, but on mixed cd's he couldn't get the silence out between each track. If you import a mix cd into Itunes it automatically figures all that out for you. It also works perfectly in a car or home without having to be picked up. The Ipod is a great product.

LoL what a great topic...

I have to agree with the op.... and everyone else who hates ipod...

number one because the ipod is a **** fashion statement...

"Ohhhh you have the new Ipoo, you are so cool, i am gonna get the new Iwhogivesadam when it comes out"....

Really though,

Just get a 32 gb flash drive, for like 50-60 bucks...

And load this music on it..

A flash drive all you have to do is plug it into the system boom its recognized and blam get your music....

**** ipods and iphones you have to download all these apps....

I LOVE itunes for its simplicity to update the iPod. Drag and drop is SO old-school. Here's why - I like to manage my music quite actively, meaning keeping the tags updated, rename if required and what not. And I want to see those changes in the iPod that I use in car. If it were drag and drop, I would have to seek out the exact files I updated, then delete them from iPod (can become a chore if I renamed the files) and then track down say 200 files 30 folders and drag and drop them.

With itunes, all I do is update the tags in itunes, and then connect the iPod. iTunes figures out what files have changed and updates them automatically. What can be simpler?!

To some of the complains above:

1) If you use WMP, you do NOT need to make another copy of songs for iTunes. Just point itunes to your music folder and it can pick them from there. You can decide whether you want itunes to rename and organize your files or not. I like that option as it keeps files organized very nicely.

2) It DOES play mp3! ALL my files are mp3. If you import CDs using itunes, you can change the default settings from AAC to MP3 easily and it will use that for all its conversions. So no, you DON'T need to change the format to use itunes and load them to iPod.

3) You don't need to drag file by file for shuffle etc. Just create a custom playlist and add songs to it from the itunes library. Setup shuffle options to sync only with that playlist, and voila the shuffle syncs easily with that playlist.

Yes, there may be a SLIGHT learning curve to setup the options and setup playlists, but once you do it it really pays off. E.g. I have automated playlists that pick songs from 2007 onward that I rated more than 3 stars from my favorite genres. All I do is maintain tags in files and update ratings, and the playlist is updated automatically and ready to go in iPod and then the car.

Please spend a LITTLE amount of time reading and learning to use it before bashing it and claiming it doesn't have features that it does!

man. I had 3 ipods in my life and never had a problem sofar (knock on wood) I have an 80gb now and I have like 4000 songs and over 20 movies on it. I can play the movies from the ipod on my tv or on my HU wich is a double din tv.

asfar as transfering music or any files. its as easy as cake. you drag everything in..lol.. how hard can it be. keep all the songs on itunes library and if anything ever happens, so easy to put them back from the library
