I got three choices of subs, which one is the best! all around the same price!

i used to have a 3 pioneers they were 12 inch subs, but i had them with less than 200 rms to each sub and they hit very hard for what they were, i have heard the 10's from them too and they hit preaty hard, but they do not sound very good doing it.

So I know you said you want to keep it between the Pioneers and the Kicker subs, but why? You say you did some reading around the boards and of reviews and whatnot, but what were you looking for? Just information on the subs you had already determined in your mind to buy?

I began this process as well about a year ago over on ecoustics.com (here's my post, similar to yours, just extremely exaggerated http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/197678.html, replies are gone because it's in the archive section). Before this post I had a system consisting of 2 Audiobahn 12s in a shitty prefab bandpass box, a SoundStorm amp, and some cheap *** wire, all of which was purchased off eBay for under $400 shipped in a package deal. Key point, it was loud to me back then and I liked it, but I had no idea what I was missing out on.

Now, I don't know what you're looking for, or what you want to hear, but I can tell you what was said to me back then to help me out. The guys told me to check out some other options in manufacturers, known for quality and respect- RE, Crystal Mobile Sound, Digital Designs, Ascendant Audio, Adire Audio - all companies I had never heard of. All I knew about was the mass produced stuff all my friends were using. So after doing about a year of research, changes, and thinking I bought a Digital Designs 9917b, a sub that few will complain about and many would like to try out.

The point is that maybe you shouldn't be so sure of your sub decision until you've considered the companies you've never heard of (just because they aren't in Best Buy doesn't make them crap, it's sometimes the other way around); look around the classifieds and see how many people are trying to sell the subs you're choosing between here. None. Because the guys on here know there's much better out there for their money, so no one on here buys it or tries to sell it.

So in my opinion, if you want a couple of 10s that will beat off 1,000 watts look into RE SE10s or DD 2510s, especially if you said money wasn't an issue. Pick yourself up a good system and you won't waste more money in the future constantly upgrading.

Hope this helps a little and you will look into some other options, I think you'll be happier in the long run that way. As far as an amp, look into a Kicker KX1200, they're solid and usually put out more than 1200 rms.

The last two posts helped alot! Especially you SeanDub, thank you so much. WOW i didn't know how difficult it was to get a great sounding system.

1. Sony Xplode XM-1652Z 1,000 WATT 2 CHANNEL
2. Legacy blue audio amp....2000 watts.. dont know much about this one
Sell them both and get an 500/1 from the classifieds. someone is always looking to upgrade. I got an old school RF 200x2:naughty: , but not selling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

someone has to mention it, so I will. Go get a 15" type R, get a kicker kx1200.1, and get someone to build you a quality ported box for it. Trust me, it will sound loud, much louder than what you have now.

x2 with him.

I used to run the cheaper stuff but then got a RE SE 12" and that is still my favorite sub to this day. I no longer have but wish I did. I had 2 SE 10's in a custom ported box with a kicker kx1200.1 in a 2000 mustang that was louder than I could really stand for a long period of time. My eyes would shake in the car and things were bouncing around in the car. Crazy loud. 1 RE SE seriies and a quality amp like the alpine pdx1.600 since money is not a problem. Those are a good combo for 1 amp and 1 speaker.

very well put. listen to this guy if you want to go the right direction. you really gotta read man. that's all. do some simple searches and you will find out what's good and what isn't. i believe there are even a couple of threads on these boards listing which brands are good and which brands to stay away from. also, some more advice, dont just research subs... research everything! read up on amps, components, head units, wiring, electrical upgrades, boxes, etc. you'll need all of those items further down the road. just keep reading and gathering info on everything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

you know we should just sticky this thread so whenever another newb asks these types of questions, we could just refer them to this thread lol.
