I got pwnt by my bank

So, I go to the bank to deposit my check, and ask the lady how I would go about getting a new debit card. My card is about 6 years old and half of it has peeled off and worn out. So, she goes, go over there and they can take care of it for you. She also tells me if I tell them I lost it, I don't have to pay for a new one.

So, I go over and a lady helps me out. I tell her I would like a new debit card. She asks me if I lost the card, and I say yes. She goes through the procedure of getting me a new card, and as we finish up she says 'I'm gonna go ahead and lock this card so there won't be any fraudulent use', speaking of the old, 'lost' card.

So, now I can't get money unless I go to the bank when it's open and withdraw money. Can't use the ATM. Can't use my debit card. For 7-10 days.

I don't even know lol.

I may stop at the bank tomorrow and pull a "I found my card!!! yay!!! I still want the new one."

My bank charges 10 or 15. But last time I said that I found my card, they said the odl one is still locked out and to wait for the new one, and to use checks to withdraw money from places.
