Sounds like this is some stupid school-mandated fooktard deadline. I know a deadline for WHAT... but then, I've seen so much stupidity and in-****ing-eptitude in school-run financial aid departments, I don't think anything would surprise me these days.

It will take several days for your FAFSA to be processed anyways, even if you sign it online.

You should call the school and explain the situation to them... my personal opinion is that you either have some incorrect information or you're explaining it poorly. I've got quite a bit of experience with FAFSAs and what you're saying doesn't make any sense.

Gonzaga's website stated clearly as stone (me and my dad read it together) that in order to be considered for government aid while attending, you must submit you FAFSA application by February 1st.

We took it the wrong way, because we thought, "why the hell would a school have a separate deadline?"

The due date is SUGGESTED, the final due date for the 08-09 school years is JUNE 30th.
I have put peoples FAFSA through in Aug. on the first day of classes before, but when that happens funds are limited.

If you file by Jan. 31st you are guaranteed funds, after that you get whats left. If you file within the next few weeks it will not be a problem.

Like I said, I need the total cumulative amount i made in 2007. without the date, I cannot tell which check to use.

Am I missing something here. Are the stubs you are looking at unchanging? Look at the one with the highest taxes taken out YTD? Or is there something in this thread I misread?

You dont have to file the taxes for 2007. That does not start until next quarter which is march so as of now you use the last taxes you filed and you have not filed 2007 yet.

For Fafsa, you don't need all the info right away. You will get it back and you can fill it in later. That's true. I did that plenty of times. I've also been back paid by them because my info came in late. The deadline of June 30th for the 08/09 school year is June 30th 2009. The school is probably saying that if you want the federal funds right off the bat, file by Feb. 1 or you'll probably have to pay for the first quarter out of pocket and then you might get reimbursed. Remember it's FEDERAL AID. The school goes by the federal deadline.

I had 6 years of FAFSA (including having to write extended credit petitions and hardship petitions), that's where this came from.
