i got broken into... security advice/stories here

sunday night i was about to go to bed when my factory alarm on my 00 camaro went off... i was like shit, it's probably my neighbors but i got on my pants and boots, grabbed the KABAR to go see anyways. i walk outside and see my driver's door WIDE open and my windows that i left open about 3/4"... whoever did it ran away and i didn't get a chance to chase them, since i had to put pants on... luckily everything was still there and nothing was damaged to get in(except my window makes a loud crack/pop when i roll it down all of the way). i live on a large, fairly heavily traveled main road so that means it could have been anybody... anybody have advice for me or stories of their own break in's? is my factory alarm sufficient for preventing theft? thanks for any input

I had my whole car stolen about two years ago. I was 17 at the time and had been working since I was 14 I had saved like every penny i made so I could buy a car and a radio. Any I bought a 1985 Buick coupe. drove it for a while and then I purchased my first system I bought most of it off the net. I bought 4 12 inch audiobahn alum q's and an audiobahn 1800d. I had a alpine h/u and all polk mids and highs with a little alpine 4 channel on them. I later opted to sell the subs and amp for more than what I bought them for. I keep the mids and highs and the 4 channel along with the h/u. I knew that I really wanted a more spl so I went to a local dealer and Bought 3 15 Kove Armageddon M's and a Directed 2400d. I built a 13 cube box slot ported and man was it loud. It was by far the loudest radio I ever owned but I never got it meaterd because no sooner than I got it done it was gone I think I had the set for two weeks before the whole car got stolen. Anyway thats my sad sob and alarms are nice but there are ways around them and most thiefs are only going to be in your car for thirty seconds to a min. sure there are ways to slow them down but **** crack heads are determined and will not give up. In my opinion if someone wants it bad enough they will find a way to take it. Which Sucks.

Luckly i have not yet ever gotten my car broken into or stolen, but i don't like in the best neighbour hood, kinda at the edge of the ghetto. So im always afraid that i will wake up the next day and not see my car. Having said this, i always wondered if it is possible to use your system as a method of security. I mean if somebody where to break in your car, it would be cool if all your speakers produced ear piercing frequencies and amplitudes that would cause anybody in there ears to bleed, or get an extream head ache. Such that the person could not spend more that a few seconds in the car.

Well thats a thought maybe somebody can come up with that if they have not already done so.

get yourself some airsoft guns or a paintballl gun They won't kill your culprit, but they will hurt them like crazy. Oh yeah and never test an airsoft gun by shooting your hand, i learned that the hard way.

Never test a CO2 powered bb gun by shooting it at your hand... learned that the hard way too and had to get surgery to get the BB out... makes a good stores for your friend's that witnessed it at least
