I got a Mazda speed3. OMFG.

true, but the the slight extra money, its more worth it to me for the 300BHP and all wheel drive.... and MUCH more car.... trust me, I tried everything and I don't think I can fit a BTL in the Miata :'(
i wasn't knocking it. i think sti's are great cars. they're both just very different.

 
as i said. the 6 is the only one worth driving. in any level of the car. every protoge ever made has been shit. the older (80's and early 90's) may last a long time, but they are terrible cars. The 3 is shit, my buddy (who babies his) has blown his up twice now, with receipts to show maintanance at correct intervals. The miata, its a ***** car, slow at that, and anyone who "races" one may as well be named Corky. They are BY FAR not a respectable car. An all around driver? Anything with two seats, 2 or 3 inches off the ground, and 6 feet long, given a stiff suspension better be a **** good driving car. There is hardly anything acting against it lol, still a shitty car. I have driven 95's and up and have hated every single one.

I owned a protege5 2002 and was one of my favorite cars to date. Have had just about 20 plus cars being I am never happy in one type pf vechichle and well finical reasons took my protege away in a bad time in my life.

Anyway that car ran great for a 2.0l. Was great on gas and had an awesome factory suspension, although I lowered mine a little, easy to mod and work on. Not once in the 2 years I had it was it at the dealership. Ended up with over 50, 000 miles on it because I drove the shit out of it. Near the end, I had a wall in it because I got to many speeding tickets with it. That car was just a lot of fun.

You bought it because you wanted to look like you were driving a fast car, but your parents wouldn't cough up the dough for the GT. Possibly because they weren't confident in your driving skills/knowledge. I applaud them.

And yes, you'd probably like it much better if it were a 4 cylnder.

I guess I can confidently say that, you don't know me at all. Period. I got the mustang because the styling, not the performance. If you call a GT a "real mustang", then I have to question your knowledge. I haven't ridden in a GT that has suprised me unless it had MAJOR mods under the hood. Now, that being said, I have ridden in Joel's cobra and that....is a real Mustang. GT's...respectable at most.

The v6 or v8 option was solely mine. I honestly hate how the v8's look, nor do I need a large motor for daily. Sorry, you lost.

S-10? huh? I would gladly race you......and gladly lose. I understand (as well as accept) my car being ungodly slow. (!4.9 is the best I have seen completely stock for the 6) I do not plan on racing it, nor do I plan on really modifying it, until the warranty is done and I can literally cut the floor out of it. Until then....its JUST a daily for to and from school/work/tooling around town with friends.

I have driven an 04 Mazda 3, and now an 07 Mazda 3 fully loaded. My only complaint was the change in styling on the OEM 17" wheels, and that you can't get power seats from the factory.

Other than that, the factory Nav works better than most, I love the styling, the handling, and it's got enough zip to make it a fun car to drive.

Oh, and I have NEVER had a problem with either of mine... EVER.

what do you not understand about my mustang being a slow daily, with decent mileage? I drove EVERY MODEL CAR that I could get my hands on, and I just felt more comforatable in the mustangs than any other car. Not to mention it doesn't sound like a tin can closing the doors (like the Mazda's I drove).

You have not much room to talk seeing as you think you had a nice car......a Mazda Station wagon at that. Very cool.

Coming from someone who used to own a 3.8l Mustang... you shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house... I think I'd rather drive the the MP5 than the mustang, if given the choice.

 
and yes, i drive a v6 mustang for economic reasons, and bought it solely for the body style. Would drive it the same if it was a 4 banger automatic. I also hate how it drives/handles/falls apart.

ex: a caddy escalade drives like shit......but they are comforatable. In my case, I liked the lay out of the mustang more than any other car I drove. The shifter isn't on the ground like the protoge's and other cars that I drove. It is rather high, and comforatable to drive. I never said it drove GOOD.

 
why get a car that drives like shit. an i would have to disagree with you about the 'lades. ive driven one stock an one on 24"s the stock was smoother an easier to drive than the loud road noise ridden an bumpy upgraded lade. the only car that i have driven that i feel like drives like shit is a scion tc. the tc is the worst car ever made i absolutely hate it...

Anyways congrats on the purchase, I am not really a mazda guy but for the cash that is a darn nice car with a very nice interior. Good pick.
