If the law truly is that you're only allowed to have one on your vehicle, fine. But based on what he wrote I can't tell. My guess is that you're not allowed to use 2 spotlights at the same time. If they're not hooked up I dont' see what that would be a law. It's not like I was driving around with them on. That's why I need a clear reading of the law.

By the way, I'm not worried about the honking ticket. That one will be no problem to win. We were parked in a parking lot. We were not on the higway. That's an easy win. I just want to know about the spotlights.

I wouldn't pay. I would just show up in court. Chances are he knows he was harassing you and won't even show. If he does then you plead your case and if you lose, pay. No big deal.

Yes, he was being a dick. But I need to know about this "law" so I can figure out how to fight it. And yeah, they're both only $50 tickets but I have no intentions of paying them and it's well worth the effort. This is a principle thing.

If you want to get a lawyer you can beat that. But they ahve all kinds of BS laws like that just to **** with people. Its not even worth fighting, its what a >$35 ticket right? The spotlight one.....got me.

Don't need a lawyer to show up in traffic court and plead your case. That would be a big waste of money. I would show up on my own though.

If you go to court, you may get the amount of the ticket lowered, but youll still have to pay court costs. (at least in Ohio).

Just research the laws, see exactly how they are written, and make sure you say you want him to appear in court.

If you end up having to pay the court (whether you did anything wrong or not, chances are youll end up paying) at least inconvenience the pig. You pay his salary with your taxes, make the bastard work for it.
