I Fried Something...no sound :(

Ok so today I was attempting to help a friend rewire his headunit in a 07 Mazda 3. He has is stock headunit, and he has a single din screen running of auxillary. I was trying to pull his single din outta the glove compartment to get a better look at it, and the ACC wire going into the harness that plugs behind the single din, slipped out of its pin, and touched itself onto the side of the HU and it sparked. His car now has no sound. The stock HU lights up, changes channels, plays the CD etc, but we cant hear any sound. We're checking fuses and non of of them are blown.

This ACC wire from the single din was tapped into an orange & white wire that was in the stock harness under the dash. It didnt lead to a fuse, it was just tapped. So what is our best bet to do from here?

my 1 gauge power wire melted to an exhaust return hose shorted out and fried my ecu

you sure the orange and white wire aint something like the cig lighter wire, maybe blown fuse on cig lighter..but seems like it wouldnt turn on at all if so

Check for blown factory amplifier fuse, or any under the hood fuse.

Could have the speaker output of the radio.

Ding Ding Ding! Checked that, and you are correct! We couldnt figure out which fuse that wire was for, so we checkeed all 50 fuses in his car one by one! Turns out it was the cig lighter fuse.; When I run my system I usually wrap the wire around the fuse Im using and pin in ti, not tap into the wire...

We didnt know what the previous guy did to his system so we had a lotta head scratching moments, but it paid off! Will post pics of our 'custom install later'. Cutting into a dash with no blueprints or measurements is pretty intense, but I got it done. =D
