ok, in case anyone forgot, I have 2 RE8's on a 300 watt Jensen amp in a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT.

so anyway, went to shop where a friend works, he didn't have much time, but ran a sweep and then ran test tones close to the peak of the sweep...

results

131db @ 40hz on dash

133.3db@ 48hz in kick

not too shabby, for such a small system, can't wait until I get the PG Xenon 400.1 amp and see what it will do.

and yes, that was on a TL.

hey good thread i just asked that question...so 2 8's on 400 watts a piece should maybe do high 130's?

How loud is 130 db? Just curious because im wondering how loud my 12 sealed is and I have nothing to compare numbers with.

im beginning to question the TL at the local shop here..

claimed only 135 with 1500 watts going to an RE 15" in 3 cubes..

i would have to question that too.

they are in a ported box tuned to 35hz,

to meter them, I dropped down the back of the rear seat, where my amp is, and thats also where the port comes out at. the metering was done outlaw btw.

as far as shaking, with the back of the seat up, my rearview mirror vibrates, and I can feel plenty of bass, BUT with the back of the seat down, my rearview mirror ends up pointing to the floor and the vibrations are a lot more, and its a helluva lot louder. oh, and either way, my trunk rattles loudly, I really need to soundproof it.

hmmm ive cracked the windshield a few inches around my rear view mirror, and i can bump it enough for me to HURT after 1 song.

ya backseats FTL, on mine i took out about 2 inches of insulation and took the center armrest out so its like a little blow through, made a big diff to the ears.

*glad my seats fold down* hehe. 97 monte carlo.. alot of trunk space. im now wondering why im only running two 10's. i could probly fit 2 18's in there. HUGE trunk.
