Bearing's can get loose from contact generally. The wrong coldweight oil can knock one out. Romping on a cold engine can knock one out. A bad build, an improperly balanced crank, and so on.

As far as Your current problem: Starter. Google it.

If it won't turn over regardless of the battery used, sounds like your starter took a dump.

You would at least hear the starter attempt to crank the engine, it just wouldn't hold an idle...

IIRC, it's like a $250 part from GM ... but don't quote me on that.

I would begin by checking the solonoid for the starter. Make sure there is voltage going to the starter. Since you hear the audible click, this is probably okay. Next, jack the car up and locate the starter. Knock on it firmly with a solid object. This could unstick it and cause it to work again, TEMPORARILY. Starters aren't usually that bad $100 - $200 or so.

haha, Welcome To the Same Boat Im Ridding On. I have been doing TOOONS of research lately trying to figure out exactly what I want to bump in my car, BUT after all of this research and money ive invested into every other component of the system BUT the subs, it turns out that 4/5!!!! subs I want right now are on backorder until november or so....some or most of you could probably guess what they are....anyways, after gas prices go up to 3.00+ in chicago area, my toyola avalon decides that it want to get 13 miles per gallon!!!

Oh, and i didnt mention this starts just after i get a 1500 dollar mechanical tune up!! I feel ya man....now this system is on delay for a few months while i decide what car I want... Lookin to get a big grandpa car....big trunk, decent gas mileage!!
