I'd gladly waste at least that much $$$ and any free time I can spare just to try to answer a few questions in mind and learn a thing or two on my own.

Like someone else said, you will never really know what's best unless you try them both out. What you thought was great because of what someone said may not be what you personally prefer after you hear both of your ideal setups for yourself.

Also, it seems like most of the people that have posted here HAVE already answered your question the way they see what you're trying to do.
