Hydrocodone???

Ok so yesterday i was being stupid and i threw my lower back out, and dislocated both my hips, major ouchies. I get a prescription to hydrocodone, 550 mg. Im bored, and in extreme pain, so i take 3. Wait 40 minutes, still hurting take 2 more. hour goes by, i dont feel any effect, i think im dying, so i figure what the hell, i crush two up and consume them thru the nasal passages... Its been two hours, i feel absolutely no effect at all, and im still in pain. What the hell? I heard all kinds of hype about this shit.
Hey when you end up in the emergency room try to remember to tell them you didn't feel them working, in between convulsions of course.

Hydocodone is nothing but the generic brand for Loratab and Vicoden.

Take it for what its worth, if you don't need them don't take them. I took them for about a year due to a bad back and knee from a motorcycle accident. Next thing I know I can't live without them. Feeling like sh!t and having serious withdrawls from NOT taking them. Man life really sucked when 100 pills would only last me 3 days and the doctor would'nt re-fill my script. ( withdrawls from he!!)

I finally got off them a few years back and I am better than ever. I see people losing thier jobs and just about doing anything to get some of them pills. Next thing you know you'll be at the Methadone Clinic. And thats no joke.

I'm not trying to lecture here and I know most people have to learn from their own mistakes, but I really don't want to anyone have to go through that bullsh!t.

#1. I doubt you dislocated both of your hips. Even 1 hip. You'd likely be in surgery right now. It is incredibly difficult to dislocate a human hip... I know, I've disarticulated a couple. This is why it is so rare to hear about hip dislocations, but very common to hear about hip fractures. Maybe you did throw your back out, which is just a histrionic slang for a muscle strain.

#2. You can't get 550mg or 750mg hydrocodone... one pill would kill you. That is probably the amount of the Tylenol they put with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If it says "hydrocodone/APAP", then the first (and much much smaller) number is the amount of hydrocodone, the second number is the amount of Tylenol. Hydrocodone is typically dispensed in 5, 7.5, and 10mg doses, whether under the brand names Lortab, Lorcet, or Vicodin, the generic hydrocodone. Depending on your lifestyle and/or metabolism, it doesn't surprise me that it isn't doing much for you. I took one once and didn't notice much of anything.

#3. Hope you don't live alone.

god people.

they arent 500-700 mg hydrocodone.

thats the acetominophene.

theres only upto 10mg of hydrocodone in your pills.

which is enough.

loratabs go up to 14 mg's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifloraCET is where its at.
#1. Lorcet (not LorAcet) is the same **** thing

#2. None of my pharmacopoeias, pharmacology texts, Epocrates or even Wikipedia show a hydrocodone mixture of more than 10mg per pill.

Certain people react different ways to pain killers. Regular vicodin always worked 10x better than hydrocodene for me. Nasal passage, not gonna make a difference, why even bother. Do you want to feel no change faster? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Since vicodin and hydro are the same exact thing with 2 differnt names written on them I doubt that you could tell the difference.

Ssssssshhhhhhh..... the power of suggestion keeps many people employed in the United States. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

oops my bad I bet somone who works for vicodin will come to my house today and by like " Now why did you have to go and tell everyone that" Well it was nice knowing you.

I just think its funny how people go out and buy some meds and think the name brand makes them different. I use to work for CVS and we had CVS branded painkillers like naprox and the such that were actually made by the same company as there counterpart "Aleeve"

There are a very few medications where the "brand name" formulation is generally considered to be slightly more effective than the generic... the examples that come to mind are all neurologic meds, not pain meds.

Perhaps he got some crappy formulations made overseas, or even some total counterfeits that have made their way into mainstream pharmacies in the US? They should be sent off for testing if they are truly that bad.

Just my $0.02
