Hushmat, quality question

Hushmat has been around a while.....so by no one using it or seeing loads of great reviews I would think it is not up to par, but I have not personally used it. I do believe it is asphalt based from what I have seen in the past on other forums, hence why I never looked into it further.

Thanks man. I guess I'm going with Audio Technix.

Hushmat is a decent product. The silver foil version is better than the black foil, IIRC. The adhesive is quite good. It's been butyl for as long as I've known about it. It's mostly sold through retail outlets and to installers - the reason DIYers like us don't have a lot of experience with it.

I sold a lot of hush mat when I worked at oreillys 7 years ago =)

The reason you dont hear about it is because its not really a marketed brand.

If you ask anyone out side of this site if they knew what Audio Technix was they would think "dynamat"
