dont the alpine preouts have a habit of being pretty weak?

As far as pre outs are concerned: YES they pretty much are. Thats not to say that makes them a weak deck. It just means that if you are using older amps you have a much bigger chance of having noise issues. I love my premier 960mp,but right now my ribbon went bad and when it folds down,i cant control my head unit,other than that its got nice features,the premier has also got a 2 year warranty than the pioneers 1 year warranty

yup,just couldnt find the receipt,got it fixed today though,i went to a local audio shop today that was an authorized pioneer repair shop,and they had the part i needed,if i let them fix it with parts and labor it would have been about 150,i just bought the ribbon for 25 bucks and change and installed it myself,so,good as new
