Hum Eliminator

Ok, so a friend of mine gave me a NADY AUDIO HE-1 hum eliminator to use in my car. I have been researching how to install in my vehicle but all I have been seeing is that this is used for disk jockeys and live bands. I wouldn't see why I couldn't use this in my car but I'd rather not waste the time or the small amount of money to install this if it won't work. Please give me your opinion and if possible a diagram of where to install. At this moment I have (in this order) a head unit, eq, and three amplifiers...One amp for my component set, second amp for my coaxials in my rear dash, and the third amp powers my subs. Any opinion/help would be greatly appreciated.

if you are looking for a band aid fix then I dont see why that wont work. You will probably want to put it after the eq in line to the amp. But I imagine that on some level the output wont be the same if it wasnt in there. I would look at your eq as the possible source of the hum. I have seen a lot of eq's cause that.

Yea, I'm sure your right about the Eq and I am beginning to dislike Eq's all together. The Eq I have now is the third I've had just with this setup. The first two brands had product defects and I do believe this one is having issues with the sub volume control...I'm thinking about getting a crossover and hopefully mount it where the Eq is. Because I've had three different Eq's mounted in the same spot...I've got unsightly screw holes to try and hide. Any recommendations on quality crossovers that would be mounted on a center console?

I wouldn't install it, I'd go about eliminating of any noise coming through the system before I did anything else.
