HU whine

i've got an issue that i have been putting up with for the last few months but its starting to piss me off and i need to do something about it.

i have a clarion VRX745VD 7'' flip-out as my HU. Im also running my entire system (only about 750 watts) on stock bat and stock alt in my 2004 dodge ram.

My question is, when the HU is turned on, it makes a slight whine. as i accellerate and rpm's go up, the whine gets louds and higher-pitched. when the HU is turned off, it makes absolutely no noise. Im not sure as to what the prob can be?? I didnt actually install the HU as i had it installed at a local shop before i knew anything about car audio.

improper hu ground.....check/replace ground

not sure what you mean by grounding the shielding... is that where you wrap the ground wire around the RCA's? the loop thing?

rca's are 2 parts....center pin where the signal is, and grounding which is the outside ring when looking at the plug....you want to ground the outer ring...give me a minute to find a pic

do both methods work just as well? meaning the filter and the loop method?

both effectively do the same thing.....i prefer the isolator, but it would cost you a few bucks where you can use wire laying around to do that other

really doesn't matter....you are trying to give the "noise" signal in the ground another path

might have a little problem....

took HU out and the rca outputs are not directly on the base of HU, but rather actual wires connected to HU (in picture)

the rca's on the left side of the pictures are not used, whereas the ones on the right side are being used.

is there any way to still do the ground loop??
