HU specs

Nice deck, but i would personally rather go with the alpine w200/205/ or 505 if you can afford it.

Otherwise, since you have 2 amps, you will need 2 preouts. Generally speaking the higher the preout voltage is, the lower your gain has to be on your amps, and the better they can sound, but realistically it wont make a huge difference so its up to you if you want to pay the extra money. If you are going for true SQ, i would suggest it though.

What kindof features are you looking for? time adjustment, eq, etc.

i looked at the alpine's but they just didnt seem to do it for me asthetically. i've got a clarion VRX745VD flip out in my truck now; i've had it for 4 or 5 years and its still running great.

what voltage is usually the most desired?

as far as what i'll be using, i just want someone that will look great, have all the ipod touch controls, video capabilities, and NAV. other than that, just the basic functions.

so basically, the higher preout voltage, the better SQ and the less you have to set the gains on the amps?
will there be a large difference between 2V and say 4+ V?
large difference? depends on your ears and how much road noise your car has. lol

But if you are going for a sq system, i think it would be best to get atleast the 4 volt, it will be far easier later on.

sq depends on the unit also, not the voltage. but it seems right with more voltage = better sq...???

2v and 4v you'll see a difference in where your gains are

will both scenarios have the same effect:

1) 2V preouts with gains set relatively high, compared to the 4V preouts

2) 4V preouts with gains set relatively low, compared to the 2V preouts

any difference as far as SQ goes?

or should i just say screw this particular model and find one with 4V preouts and call it a day?

The amp output will probably be the same (should be the same anyway) but yes depending on how good your ears are, you may be able to hear a difference in sq, i doubt it will be a huge difference, but its a difference nonetheless.

I would personally try and find something with 4 volt outs, it really would make it easier on you in the long run. Better to do it right the first time. Whats your budget on your headunit?
