HU/AMP Settings help

I recently installed 2 12" subwoofers in my friend's Dodge ram. I'm looking for a little help as to what I should put the settings at for the head unit and amp to sound good together. I'm not looking for criticism just help. I mainly listen to hip hop/rap. Although I am looking for it to sound good I want it to still be very loud when turned up. The more specific settings you can tell me the better, as I am very new to car audio. Thanks in advance.

Here's his setup

2 12 inch Alpine Type R Subwoofers Wired in parallel at 1 ohm to a Hifonics BXI-1210d amplifier. Also his head unit is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-x493. He has the stock infinity dodge speakers other than that.
