i swam with one of my old nokia phones when a boat sank in a local canal (dont ask). dried it out over night and it worked fine after , minus a small water spot under the screen.

That's the good thing about flash drives, they don't have mechanical parts so they are more durable and don't damage as easily. It should be fine as long as you wait an appropriate time for it to thorougly dry.

i did the same thing...found it in my pants pocket, plugged it in and bam!

i was pretty happy when it worked, yet so sad when i found out it was in the washing machine

I washed mine once, but it was advertised as waterproof. I didn't even let it dry and if works fine still.
