Engine Head Gasket leak.

This guy is selling the car cheap. and saying all wrong with it is Engine Head Gasket leak. i mean i'm still going to take it to mechanic but still was wondering how much is going to cost to fix this particular problem.

depends on the car and the mechanic. on my car the estimate was ~$1200
i just swapped engines and spent >$600 but i did the work

you can sometimes buy addititives for a few dollars at wal-mart...autozone ...pep boys etc that will stop the leak by pouring it into the motor....

not the best idea... it doesnt only clog up leaks. could also clog radiator, w/p, block.
this is not advised, at least by me. do it right or don't do it IMO

it is a cheap fix that used car dealers use to move cars..once they sell it.... its out of their hands.....i'm not sure how long it last though...

i did a head gasket change myself and it was a sorta fun but took a long time. I eneded up messing up the timing belt pullies and never got it running, it was more of a project but If i had to do it again to save $500+ i would

I'm sure it works occasionally....or they wouldn't sell it...I think maybe the better stuff is the route to go like duralube ...or something...instead of the cheap off brands like the car lots use....
