not hot glue gunned together like most boxes,ours are liquid nailed then reinforced with 1" staples

Umm what would 1" nails do? going a 1/4" (maybe a bit more) of an inch into the other sheet of MDF is pointless

He lists outside dimensions as 24"x13"x16". Using a handy dandy calculator, net air space is like 2.17. Only reason I can think of for this discrepancy between his number and mine is that he must have accounted for port displacement. It's official, the port walls are there, they're just invisible.
