How will this sound?

Two 12" Type-R 4 ohms with a HiFonics 1206D amp. I know you're probably thinking "a more powerful amp would be better", but with the right box will it still be loud?

Yeah it will be loud provided, like you said the box is right, but then again loud is a relative concept. What are you upgrading from?

it will sound BALLIN!!! na but my 2 type argghsss sounded good as hell off a kicker zx450.2 and the trunk was basically completly sealed off from the seats and metal behind that

they still got loud as hell..

Yeah dude you will be happy, do not go with the cubes alpine recommends, i made one for my buddies 2 type r2 12s that was ported to alpines spec and it had a flat line response and was very punchy but it didnt get deep or too loud, i did however have 2 10s that i put in 2.5 cubes at 32hz and they got loud. I would go with 3cubes+ if you have the room, and you will be happy. Some will tell you as much as 5 cubes but i havent tried anything that large myself. When in doubt see what winids spits out.
