how well will this amp run my sub?

ok well im getting this amp: http://www.crunchusa.net/Crunch_PZAmp.html the P1100.2. i currently have a JL 10W0V2 running an older version of that amp but the GP series not the P series. im prety sure the amp is getting old and tired and isnt putting out what it can. im running it bridged so my sub "should" be seeing 500w. but my infinity 1600D amp made the JL sound better and hit harder.

my question is should i expect the P series to perform alot better than my current amp? id like to get the JL to do as best as it can until i decide to upgrade to a 12 or 2 10s(which probobly wont be for a long time.) i want to match my sub to an amp that is capable of driving it to its potential with room for upgrading later on.
