how to wire up a relay

first check out that site he mentioned.

but if you want a quick "rundown" which I'd advise against //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif....

...

pin 30 = big power source input

pin 87 = big power source output

pin 87a = untriggered big power source output

pin 86 = trigger power source signal

pin 85 = trigger power source return

30 & 87 are interchangeable, so are 85 & 86.

basically, once the trigger power source signal has been "triggered", big power source input & big power source output are now connected to each other. otherwise big power source input & untriggered big power source output are connected to each other.

if hooking up say 3 amps,

- big power source input = say a 16ga wire from the battery...or a distro block from close by

- big power source output = 3 wires to the remote terminal on the amps

- trigger power source signal = head unit's remote turnon

- trigger power source return = ground

- untriggered big power source output = unused
