I have been reading MB Quart's ONX series manual, and it seems like the amplifier expects a _mono_ signal on both of its RCU inputs. The manual is here:

On page 7 it says the following: "Note: You can use the Radio/CD designated stereo line output or a full range stereo line output. For full range stereo line output, you will need an optional Y-splitter as shown." The picture shows one of RCA outs plugging into a Y-splitter and then the Y-splitter outputs plugged into amplifier. The other stereo RCA out cable is unused. I am 90% sure that my Kenwood KDC X994 head unit has a stereo output on subwoofer channels. I could split say the right one and plug it into amplifier, but wouldn't this result in loss of some bass information? How can you be 100% sure that all bass content of stereo recordings is recorded in mono?
