I am going to get a second set of 6.5" components.

The components are 4 ohm and want about 100 watts each.

Do I HAVE to get a 4 channel amp that puts out 100x4 @ 4 ohms or can i wire the components in parallel so i only need a 2 channel that does 200x2 @ 2 ohms. THANKS

you should be able to go with the 200x2@2ohm

If they are the same speakers, playing the same frequency range... yes you can just parallel them.

And no, before you even ask, the 2 ohm final load will not alter your passive xover networks for the comp sets.

i use 2 sets of cdt comps as front stage

running off a zed deuce

200 x 2 @ 4

400 x 2 @ 2

i use it 400 x 2 @ 2

I am using a 4 channel amp that has 100w at 2 ohms but my HU is only 2 volts preout. So I had to turn my gains up pretty high to get the volume I want out of them.
